Freshpet has expanded the number of food stamp recipients eligible for a new food stamp benefit from 5,000 to 25,000, the company said on Tuesday.
Freshpet, the oldest pet food seller in the U.S., has added a new benefit to its food stamp program, called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
This means it can now help the more than 6.6 million people in Florida who receive food stamps.
The new food stamps benefit is worth $1.50 per bag of freshpet pet food, and the company is offering free shipping for the new benefit.
In other words, customers can get their pet food at any supermarket and pay for it with their food stamps, which is great news for pet owners in Florida.
The Florida food stamp system has long been the most generous in the country, with the state spending about $60 billion annually on food stamp assistance.
Florida is the most populous state in the nation, with more than 15 million people.
But the food stamp population is also growing, as more and more people are moving from cash to electronic benefits, such as mobile apps, as the economy improves.
Florida has the fourth-largest percentage of people who use food stamps in the United States.
