Food TV channel TYSON BROTHERS’ ADVICE to eat vegan dog biscuits has been shared on social media, prompting the network to apologise for the post.
In the post, the tycoons blog called the brand “the only dog biscuits made in Australia” and said they were “a family favourite”.
“So we just wanted to let you know, we have been made aware that this is an unfortunate and offensive comment, and we sincerely apologise to all those who have been offended,” the blog said.
“We are proud to serve our loyal customers with vegan dog food at our Tyson Brands’ restaurants across Australia.”
“The tycoos dog biscuits are the only dog biscuit made in the United States of America, Australia, or New Zealand, which means they are vegan.”

The spokesperson said they would be working with Tyson Foods to ensure the brand was “more closely aligned with our customers needs”.

It came after an ACCC investigation found that the biscuit brands Tyson and Biscuits were “in violation of a number of ACCC orders, including requiring that they do not use any animal products in their dog biscuits”.
The ACCC’s investigation revealed that the brands failed to tell consumers that their dog biscues were vegan.
According to the ACCC, the biscuits “do not contain any animal or plant based ingredients, including, but not limited to, animal protein, milk protein, eggs, soy, fish, shellfish, seafood, or eggs from dairy, eggs from animal products or from eggs from egg products”.”

A spokeswoman for Tyson said in a statement that “our biscuit brand, Tyson, is one of the only ones of its kind in Australia, and they are committed towards providing our loyal customer with the best dog biscuits possible.”
“As part of the ACCCC’s ongoing investigation into Tysoons business practices, we believe we have uncovered additional information about Tyson which will assist us in further investigating our position in this matter,” the statement said.
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to our loyal and loyal dog biscuity customers for the way in which this post was initially shared and have worked with Tysoon to ensure that the content was taken down.”
A statement from Acana said they are “deeply sorry” to anyone who was offended by the post and said that they have been in discussions with the tycoon to ensure they “fully implement” their promise to not use animal products.
“It is important that we set the bar for dog biscuits as high as possible in terms of quality and we want to continue to do that with our brand, which is a dog biscut company,” the company said in the statement.
“In addition to the brand commitment to not using animal products, we also want to make sure that our brand is not one that any other brand would consider to be vegan.”
